Which car is best for me? The answer depends on your intended uses.

No matter what anyone might tell you, the operating costs of the gas and electric are about the same over the life of the vehicle. So the real question is about usage.

Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of both in order to identify which car would work for you.

Gas Golf Car Pros:

Speed. Gas allows for quicker acceleration. Towing. Gas can carry more weight for longer distances. Repair. Simple gas engines are similar to what most gear-heads are used to working with. Gas Stations. Can fill up a tank at the gas station for your full sized car and your golf car. Distance. Can function more like a full size car. Cost. Gas cars are less expensive than electric golf cars and with simple maintenance will last much longer than an electric car. Gas Golf Car Cons: Noise. They will attract attention. Smell. They are gas powered and older ones can emit fumes. Gas. Costs continually in flux. Electric Golf Car Pros: Quiet. Electric engines provide a nearly silent ride. Environmentally friendly. Electric engines do not emit carbon. Short Distances. Ideal distances of in a 30 mile radius. Energy. Can plug in most outlets to charge battery Neighborhood Friendly. Complies with Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (N.E.V.) regulations. Electric Golf Car Cons: Slow. Speeds under 20 MPH Service. Unless you know electrical engineering, you’ll require service for any engine problems. Power. Less powerful than gas engines. Cost: More expensive initially and will need new batteries after 5-6 years of normal use. And always feel free to reach out to Yamaha Golf and Utility golf car professionals with any questions about any questions you have about the difference between gas and electric.
